Ellen blaney — Chair

Ellen Blaney is a classroom instructor, trainer and writer with experience in non-profit, community, academic and corporate settings. Ellen has a commitment to community building and mobilizing for justice and equity across systems. Based on the idea that quality medical care and excellent health outcomes are the basic right of every person living in this country, she is dedicated to RSP’s mission to find solutions to reproductive diseases that disproportionately affect women of African descent through education, advocacy and activism.


Emma watkins — clerk

Emma Watkins is the Director of the Cambridge Citywide Senior Center, where she has worked for the last 20 years to create programs and services that greatly enrich the lives of senior citizens. She also serves on the boards of Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP), the Newton Council on Aging Advisory Board, and the Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services Advisory Board.


Peggy Barrett — treasurer

Peggy Barrett is currently retired, after serving as a director for various organizations including Community Awareness and Prevention Services for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, Tufts University Women’s Center and the Campus Violence Prevention Project. In these capacities, she taught courses on women’s health, organized conferences focused on race and gender issues, and developed educational seminars on issues of violence against women.
